I’m proud of this.

Not because it was a perfect speech, but because it represents growth.

A few years ago, I probably wouldn’t have had the courage to stand in front of a room and share something this meaningful to me. Today, I had the opportunity to do exactly that through Toastmasters.

This message was inspired by a leadership conference in Miami that challenged the way I think about confidence, goals, and the stories we choose to believe about ourselves. These are lessons I’m still learning and practicing every day.

I’ve realized that waiting until we’re “perfect” often keeps us from giving what we already have to offer. I’d rather share something meaningful imperfectly than keep it to myself.

If this speech encourages even one person to dream a little bigger, believe in themselves a little more, or take one step toward a goal they’ve been putting off, then it was worth giving.

Thank you to my Toastmasters club for providing a place where I can continue growing as a speaker and as a person.

Progress over perfection.

Today I had the opportunity to share a message that is deeply meaningful to me with my Toastmasters club—lessons inspired by a leadership conference in Miami that challenged the way I think about confidence, goals, and the stories we tell ourselves.

I’m realizing that one of the greatest ways we grow is by sharing what we have, even while we’re still growing ourselves.

For too long, I’ve put unnecessary pressure on myself to make things “better” before putting them out into the world. I’m choosing a different mindset now.

If something has made a difference in my life, I’d rather share it imperfectly than wait until I think it’s perfect.

I hope there’s an idea in this speech that encourages you to believe in yourself a little more, pursue a goal you’ve been putting off, or simply take the next step that’s been on your heart.

Thank you to my Toastmasters club for giving me a place to continue growing—not only as a speaker, but as a person.

I just had to share these beautiful measuring spoons my cousin picked up for my mom from a little gift shop in Old Folsom. ❤️ Each spoon has a message — Hope, Faith, Trust, Believe — and together they’re such a simple yet powerful reminder of what matters most.

What makes this gift even more special is that it came from a small local business right on Sutter Street: Dorothea’s. I love supporting places like this — shops filled with heart, character, and people who truly care about their customers and the items they curate.

I’ve always loved the movie Groundhog Day, but recently I realized why it hits me so deeply: it feels a lot like real life… and honestly, a lot like how God works with us.

Sometimes it seems like the same challenges keep showing up again and again. The same frustrations. The same types of conflicts. The same emotional reactions. Almost as if life keeps handing us the same situation until we finally grow through it.

That’s Phil Connors’ entire journey. He wakes up to the same day on repeat and goes through all the stages we go through—cynicism, self-indulgence, burnout, even hopelessness. And then something shifts. He stops focusing on what he can get out of the day and starts focusing on how he can serve. He becomes more patient, more compassionate, more intentional.

And only then does the loop break.

That feels true in my own life too. Some lessons don’t visit us once—they circle back until we finally internalize them. Things like patience, communication, boundaries, forgiveness, self-worth, and especially love. They keep returning not to punish us, but to grow us.

I’ve come to believe this:

Our repeated challenges are God giving us an opportunity to learn a valuable lesson.

Growth isn’t a straight line. It’s a series of cycles, each one with a little more understanding than the last.

So if you’re in a season where things feel like déjà vu… you’re not stuck. You’re being shaped. Every new morning is another chance to respond with a little more wisdom, a little more grace, and a little more love.

And that’s when the “next day” finally comes.
