June 1st marks the official start of Hurricane Season!
Now is the time to prepare and make sure you and your household are ready.
Before a storm:
Review renters & flood insurance (personal belongings are not covered by the property)
Secure important documents in a waterproof container (IDs, insurance, financial records, valuables)
Clear balconies, patios, and outdoor spaces
Close blinds and place towels at the base of doors/windows
Elevate and protect electronics from potential flooding
Remove pets if evacuating—staff cannot care for animals
If boarding windows, it must be done safely and removed within 48 hours (at resident expense)
During a storm:
Stay indoors and away from windows
Use flashlights only (no candles or open flames)
Never use grills or generators inside the home
Keep refrigerator/freezer closed as much as possible
After a storm:
Watch for hazards like downed power lines
Do not use tap water until authorities confirm it is safe
Report damage once it is safe to do so
Repairs and inspections will be completed in phases, starting with life-safety concerns
Emergency Kit Essentials:
Water (3 days minimum), non-perishable food, medications, flashlight, batteries, phone charger, first-aid kit, hygiene supplies, cash, important documents, and pet supplies.
📢 Stay informed through local alerts, have a plan in place, and check on neighbors when safe.
