Christmas is 1 day away ❄️

My favorite part of this season is giving to others ♥️ Whether it’s heading up a gift drive for a family in need, volunteering my time or thoughtfully picking out gifts 🎁.

November is Epilepsy awareness month 💜.

My boy still smiles on tough mornings like this morning. Awake at 6:45, cooking breakfast, taking medication, lunch packed, loaded up in the car and drive to school. I can tell by the look on his face that he isn’t feeling well after an intense seizure the night before. I remind him calmly, while we sit in the school parking lot, to trust his instincts about how he’s feeling and I ask him if he thinks he can make it through the school day. He’s tired of missing school from medication side effects, nausea, headaches and feeling lightheaded. He responds and tells me “I don’t think I can make it through the school day without getting sick this time Mommy”. He still calls me “Mommy” 🥹. I reassure him that it’s okay. That we got this. That this is going to pass and there’s hope and healing in his future. I drive him home, get him settled with a cozy blanket and a barf bag.
Do my best not to show any distraught emotions and only positive upbeat reassurance and smiles and hugs. I only cry on drives alone in the car and at church.
This is life with Epilepsy for my Boy.
This diagnosis has taken a lot of normalcy from his childhood but it has also given him a different perspective on life and a gratitude for the tiniest things ♥️.
We continue on to the next hospitalization this month & continue to pray for his upcoming surgery to heal the seizures.
