Make sure your home inspector is using a thermal camera every. Single. time. Why?
Thermal cameras are valuable in home inspections because they can reveal hidden issues like moisture intrusion, insulation problems, and HVAC inefficiencies, which can lead to costly repairs or safety hazards if left undetected.
What kind of hidden issues can they detect? Here are a few examples:
Moisture Intrusion: Thermal cameras can detect areas with moisture problems, such as leaks behind walls or under floors even before visible damage occurs.
Insulation Deficiencies: They can identify areas where insulation is missing or inadequate, leading to energy loss and potential damage.
Using a thermal camera offers enhanced accuracy and efficiency and is non-invasive- thermal imaging is a non-destructive method of inspection, meaning it doesn't require drilling holes or tearing down walls to uncover problems. It helps with early detection identifying problems, preventing further damage and save on costly repairs in the long run. Thermal imaging provides a more comprehensive assessment of a home's condition than a visual inspection alone.
