If you have horses (or other equines) on your Milton property, chances are high you'll want a free sign with this graphic on it that's available now at City Hall. It's a way to let people near you know not to ignite fireworks nearby in line with a new Council-approved ordinance change aimed at safeguarding horses and their barns.

Milton horse farm owners can pick up a free sign anytime City Hall is open (generally weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.) as long as there are some still available. All you have to do is go up to the Community Development window and tell the person there you have a horse on your property, then you can get a sign.

The signs can be placed on your private property facing the roadway, letting people know an equine lives there and that they shouldn't use fireworks nearby any day of the year. And yes, that includes the fast approaching Independence Day holiday.
