8 Tips to make the most out of you family photo session

1. Choose your outfits carefully (choose coordinating colors, but not matchy, matchy)
2. Be well rested and make sure that the kids are well fed ;-)
3. Don’t rush getting ready. If you show up rushed and disorganized it will set the tone for the entire shoot. Start by making getting ready for the shoot fun.
4. Be cheerful participants!! Dads….you know who you are ;-)
5. Have fun with your family. Joke around, tell your family how much you love them. Give sweet kisses.
6. Bring an activity you enjoy together. When families are engaged in an activity your photographer will have an opportunity to take some beautiful authentic images.
7. Not everybody has to smile all the time. Parents, don’t stand behind the photographer yelling “Cheese” ;-) Cheese is for wine and crackers.
8. Take time to coordinate and talk to your photographer about the concept of the photo session. Discuss wardrobe, location ect.

A professional photo session is a fun way for your tween/teen to express their personality and boost their self-esteem. Isabelle got to dress-up in her favorite outfit, all lights on her, fan blowing in her face, and feel incredible while posing in front of the camera. We had lots of fun with music, snacks and a touch of vouge ;-

Need an authentic smile with your headshot? Here is how:

- DO NOT SAY CHEESE Say MONEY instead (try it, you’ll be amazed)
- When drawing up your cheeks to smile keep your mouth relaxed, part your lips a little
- Close your eyes for a few seconds then open them and smile. Your face will be more relaxed
- Think of something funny or think of someone you love
- Have your photographer tell you a joke…or tell one yourself
- Get goofy. Do your favorite silly dance, make funny sounds with your lips…whatever makes you feel happy
- Most important: When you smile, don’t forget to smile with your eyes. It’s ok for the tiny crows feet to show. That makes a smile genuine
