MUGNOS DID YOU KNOW? 🍂

Y’ALL.

Remember yesterday when I was celebrating fall while simultaneously MELTING in 100° Texas weather?

Apparently Mother Nature saw my post. 😂

The National Weather Service is now watching what could be the first REAL front of the season heading toward Central Texas next week.

Before you drag the sweaters out of storage… calm down. 😂

We still have to survive another HOT weekend.

But right now, the forecast is showing the possibility of cooler, drier air arriving after the front moves through Tuesday night into Wednesday.

And by “cooler,” remember we live in Texas.

Around 90° along I-35 suddenly qualifies as sweater weather. 😂

There could also be some much-needed rain with it.

I’m not putting away my shorts yet, but I AM cautiously optimistic.

If you live in Round Rock, here’s one you may actually USE.

The East Old Settlers Boulevard extension is officially OPEN, connecting Red Bud Lane to CR 110!

And if you’ve driven around this part of Round Rock lately, you already know why this matters.

SO. MUCH. GROWTH. 😳

Homes, businesses, schools and development have continued pushing east, and our roads are trying to catch up.

As someone who spends half her life driving around Central Texas showing houses 😂, I’m always excited when we get another way to get from Point A to Point B.

Now the important question…

Who has driven it already, and did it actually make your drive easier?

MUGNOS DID YOU KNOW? 👀

Okay Central Texas… THIS caught my attention today.

Texas has temporarily hit the brakes on permits for new data centers while the state takes a closer look at how much electricity and water these massive facilities are going to require.

And if you’ve been following my posts, you know why I’m watching this.

We’ve had HUGE technology and data-center projects discussed throughout Central Texas, including around Hutto, Taylor, Georgetown and Round Rock.

I’m excited about growth and the jobs and opportunities that can come with it.

But I’m also glad we’re asking the other questions:

Do we have enough power?

What about our water?

Who’s paying for the infrastructure these projects require?

Because growth is great.

Smart growth is better.

This is one I’ll definitely keep following for you because what happens with these projects could have a real impact on communities throughout Central Texas.

Okay, longtime Central Texans…

WHAT in the world is happening to Liberty Hill?! 😂

Look at this lineup:

🛒 Costco opened in March
🎯 Target opens October 11
🛍️ T.J. Maxx is coming
🛒 And now Walmart has plans for a roughly 176,000-square-foot Supercenter along Ronald Reagan Boulevard.

I remember when Liberty Hill felt like you were heading WAY out of town.

Not anymore.

This is one of the things I find fascinating about living in Central Texas. You can watch a community change right in front of you.

The rooftops come first. Then eventually the shopping, restaurants, medical offices, entertainment and services start following those rooftops.

Growth definitely comes with growing pains, but I do love watching our smaller communities gain conveniences that residents used to have to drive miles to get.

Now I want to hear from the people who have been here awhile…

Okay Bastrop… Target may finally be coming your way!

A new report says Target is expected to be part of the proposed 75-acre Sendero development near Highway 71 and FM 969.

But Target isn’t even the whole story.

Plans for Sendero include approximately:

🏠 782 apartments
🛍️ 250,000 square feet of retail
🏨 A 120-room Marriott
🩺 A medical and wellness district

I’ve watched this same pattern happen all over Central Texas.

First come the rooftops.

Then come the restaurants, stores, medical offices, entertainment and everything else people have been asking for.

Nothing is final just yet. Bastrop City Council is scheduled to discuss an agreement connected with the development on Tuesday, so I’ll be watching that one.

But I have to ask my Bastrop people…

If you haven’t been out toward Liberty Hill lately, you’re going to be SHOCKED at how much is changing.

Now add another one to the list.

A massive 176,000-square-foot Walmart Supercenter is officially under construction at the new Santa Rita Ranch Center near Ronald Reagan and Hwy. 29, with a late-2027 opening planned.

And here’s the part I find more interesting than Walmart itself.

Watch where the big retailers are putting their money.

They study population, rooftops and future growth before they make investments like this.

I’ve watched Central Texas change for a LONG time, and the Liberty Hill/Georgetown/Leander corridor is becoming almost unrecognizable compared with what it was even a few years ago.

Some people LOVE all the new conveniences.

Some people want their quiet Liberty Hill back. 😂

I can understand both.
