It has now been 5~1/2 months since my first knee replacement surgery. My second surgery was august 6 and my 3rd was August 27. Four weeks in a rehab facility, 12 weeks of home physical therapy while wearing a thigh to ankle brace, and now 12 weeks of outpatient therapy.

I wish I could say I am dancing in the street but I am not. I go to physical therapy 3 times a week and still using a walker.

I feel like I am no longer the me I have lived with all these years. It is very hard to trust people. I am overly cautious because if I injure this knee I could have to start all over. I am dreading the fact that I will need to get the other knee replaced in the spring.
I am looking for some Christmas spirit so if you have extra please tell Santa I am looking for some Ho Ho Ho

Most of my mind is taken up with fear, dread and pain. After having a knee replacement on June 30 I have spent 5 weeks with a walker as my best friend. As I came and went with pain and pt I was anxious to see the results of a new knee. That was not the overall plan apparently. On Monday something went seriously wrong and after an evening with the paramedics and an afternoon with the doctor we found out I had a torn ligament which caused the kneecap to slip back and forth. So tomorrow I will be having a second surgery to reattach kneecap and ligament. Followed by 4-6 weeks in a stiff leg appliance. In case u ever decide to have a kneecap slip back and forth I would advise against as it is absolutely, hands down the worst pain I have ever felt in my life. Probably not a great time to ask my opinion about knee replacements either. The same day that all this occurred when we went to doctor the battery was dead in the car. And after we got home they delivered my new dryer, they got in a fight with my neighbor. My neighbor called the police and so on their way out the installers destroyed my stone mailbox. AND IT WAS MY BIRTHDAY. At least I have great kids and great grandkids to help me thru this carffuffle. My kiddos gave me the coolest Apple Watch for my birthday —always a silver

It has been 3 weeks ago today that I had a complete knee reconstruction. I had heard everything from "it was a snap" to it was horrific." I vote for the horrific. I have had a bunch of surgeries in my life and I have NEVER felt pain like this before. I am still on a walker and no clue when that will be otherwise. Was in a rehab for 10 days with 3 hours of physical therapy a day. Still have 3 days a week physical therapy at the house. My doctor mentioned that I should have the second knee done. If he ever says that again I will not be responsible for his condition. I would show you a picture but you would cry
