Well that not up to CODE!

What is CODE? A comprehensive set of laws, i.e. the International Building Code 2000 that controls local regulations that specify minimum structural requirements for design, construction, remodeling and materials used in the construction of improvements. Building codes are based on safety and health standards.

"Code" can change from one municipality to another. There are standards in construction that change over time. Technology and materials change over time -- even the space between stair rails and the wiring used in your electrical can change. It doesn't mean that what is there is wrong -- it means it can e done BETTER.

The main thing is to make sure your home is SAFE! It is imperative to make sure you understand WHAT you are purchasing and if it meets YOUR standards. I can always share a list of trusted partners to conduct a home inspection -- whether or not you are selling. You might just want another set of eyes to evaluate your forever home and make sure it measures up. Give me a call -- I am happy to help!

Bugs and Termites and Ants! Oh MY!!!!!

A Wood Destroying Insect (WDI) inspection is important because it can help you detect signs of infestation before they cause serious damage to your home. WDI inspections can help you avoid costly repairs and keep your property pest-free.
Here are some reasons why you might want to get a WDI inspection:
**Detect infestations early
WDI inspections can help you detect current or past infestations as early as possible.
**Save money
Early detection can save you money by preventing costly structural damage.
**Meet lending requirements
Many banks, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and the Federal Housing Administration require a WDI inspection to secure a home loan.
**Protect your health
WDI infestations can cause serious structural damage to homes and can also affect your health.

A WDI inspection involves a licensed technician visually inspecting the interior and exterior of your property for signs of termites and other wood-destroying insects. The inspector will provide a report on their findings and may also provide recommendations for treatment. It's an affordable option for early detection to save money in the long term!

Ask me if you need a few good recommendations!
