With deep sadness, Madison Park Development Corporation mourns the passing of Yhinny Matos.
In her 8 years at MPDC, Yhinny was a tireless advocate, youth leader, mentor, and collaborator whose impact reached far beyond her title. Through her work with young people, she helped create pathways to employment, education, personal growth, and opportunity. She believed deeply in the potential of every young person and never stopped showing up for them.
Yhinny brought extraordinary energy, dedication, creativity, and care to everything she did. She was a mentor, advocate, and friend who strengthened partnerships, helped advance youth-focused initiatives, and contributed to the growth of programs that continue to support our work. Her commitment was more than a profession — it was a reflection of her love for Roxbury and the people who call it home.
She was also a vibrant presence in Boston’s dance community. Her passion, artistry, and joy on the dance floor were inseparable from the spirit she brought to her work: bold, generous, inspiring, and full of life.
Yhinny’s legacy lives on through the young people she touched, the doors she helped open, and the countless lives she inspired throughout Boston and beyond.
We extend our deepest condolences to Yhinny’s family, friends, colleagues, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. May we honor her memory by continuing to invest in young people, build community, and carry forward the work she cared about so deeply.
