NEIGHBORHOODS: PALM BEACH COUNTY
Welcome to my Neighborhoods Series. I will attempt to paint a picture of each area or neighborhood that is brief but highlights the best and worst of each in my own words. When available I will link an official website at the end of each column.
PALM BEACH COUNTY
I love Palm Beach County and have lived here since 1989 with one brief sojourn in Washington D.C. Palm Beach County is centrally located to just about everything in South Florida. Some of these attractions include Orlando at a 2 and a half hour drive, Disney, Universal, Seaworld and much more!. The Florida Keys are less than 2 hours drive and Miami is about an hour. The West coast is 2 and a half hours and the Bahamas are 3 or 4 hours by private boat and 25 minutes by air! We are located just south of the sub-tropical weather line that runs from just north of Tampa to right about Port St Lucie and boast some of the most lush and exotic vegetation found on the mainland.
The county runs from Jupiter in the North to Boca Raton in the South and from the Ocean in the East to Lake Okeechobee in the West. It is one of the few places I know of where you can go Scuba Diving in the morning, go to High Goal Polo in the afternoon and finish up with Major League Baseball Spring Training games in the evening. What a great place to call home!
