Many of you knew him, many of you got to hangout with him, maybe even have him as a guest for a week, walk him, get a good cleaning on your face with his licking or you got “the sniff” when he wanted a treat for doing absolutely nothing. I never knew I’d love something so special that lived rent free his whole life, all his haircuts, medical bills, body massages & scratches by everyone (especially my mom, his bill is quite extensive) personal drivers and breakfast/snacks/dinners paid for in advance, his multiple vacation homes (travel included), all covered by his family.

My best friend/little brother, Alyssa’s little buddy, my older brothers head licking protector, my parents high maintenance son and everyone’s friend, Patch Jarahian, took his last sniff while enjoying his retirement down in Florida last week. It’s a fear that I never wanted to happen but that’s part of life. It’s part of the journey and it’s what makes me love my family and friends even more and cherish life itself along with trying to enjoy the small moments. Patch made every moment special throughout the years.

Patch has been part of my life & family since I got home from college and he gave our family nearly 17 years of joy, love, licks, sniffs and plenty of smells. He loved playing with smelly socks or snake socks (I put a sock over my hand and he loved wrestling. Didn’t matter the time of day). I will miss our road trips together (he loved the wind in his face), train rides, plane rides, walks, our naps, cuddle sessions, play time, or any lazy day on the couch. Most of all, I’ll miss the joy he brought everyone that was around him. I loved watching how he affected everyone in such a loving way.

I’ll miss you buddy. Until we meet again… May flights of angels sing thee to thy rest, sweet Patch.

Open since the 1950s and now a 4th-generation, family-run restaurant on Ocean Avenue. I worked here back in high school, and it was one of my grandmother’s and my favorite spots growing up.

A true Point Pleasant Beach staple that continues to evolve while staying true to its roots.

I’m excited to kick off my new series highlighting the businesses that give Monmouth & Ocean County their personality and small-town charm.

As a local Real Estate Advisor , understanding a community means knowing the people and places that make it feel like home. That’s why I’m combining my real estate work with my passion for storytelling and spotlighting local businesses.

Episode 1 features Lokal Brewing Company, owned by Nick & Liz Kolb. I’ve known Nick since I was a kid, and years ago I helped him and Liz buy their first home in Point Pleasant — so this one means a lot to me. Seeing their dream of opening a brewery finally come to life is something I’m proud to share.
