✨6 Years Sober ✨
Six years ago today, I made the decision to stop drinking, and without a doubt, it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. 💛
Life hasn’t always been easy, but even through the hard days, heartbreak, stress and loss, I haven’t wanted to drink. Sobriety has given me the tools to work through life instead of trying to escape it.
We live in a society where alcohol is connected to almost everything. We drink to celebrate, to unwind after a long day, on vacation, at weddings, watching sports, when we’re happy and even when we’re hurting. There always seems to be a reason. And our kids grow up watching it all, learning from us that drinking is simply a normal part of celebrating, coping and everyday life.
Over these six years, I’ve learned that I don’t need alcohol for the good times or the hard ones. I get to be fully present for all of it.
I’m still learning, still growing and incredibly grateful for the clarity, strength, peace and freedom sobriety has given me.
It’s not a limitation… it’s my superpower. 💪🏻✨
One day at a time. Six years and counting. 🙏🏻💫
