Despite an abundance of Fall listings creating more choices for buyers and driving higher competition among sellers, 2,191 New York City homes entered contract in October, up 10.4% from a year ago and amid a surge of 3,539 new October listings. This has been the strongest fall market since 2021, with the median asking price of all homes on the market of $1.05M in October, and homes selling for a median of 97.9% of their most recent asking price.
Marketing, including staging, professional photography, tailored promotion, and strategic pricing, is still 🗝️, the most-viewed 20% of NYC listings on StreetEasy sold for a median of 100% of their last asking price.
