My son knows something that I want to plant deep in his heart: when the Good Lord takes me home one day, whatever money is sitting in my bank account will be donated to charity. Not âsomedayââat the right time. Because I want my life to keep blessing people even after Iâm gone.
He knows he wasnât put on this earth just to take up space. Heâs here for a short period of timeâand while weâre here, weâre supposed to leave this world better than we found it. That means when life knocks us down, we donât quit. We get up, we learn, we keep working, and we keep moving forward with character.
My son is being taught work ethic. Not shortcuts. Not excuses. Work. And heâs being taught a heart of loveâreal love, the kind that forgives. We donât hold grudges. We forgive everybody we come across. And we live with respect toward Godâknowing that we answer to Him, that our life matters, and that we can always seek forgiveness from the only One who can truly heal the deepest places.
And yesâheâll potentially be left with something too. A moving company. A chance for the next generation to be a âmover,â not just in a practical way, but in a purpose-filled wayâhelping families, serving communities, and building something that can thrive for years to come.
Because this isnât just about moving boxes. Itâs about moving people through hard seasons with dignity, consistency, and care.
My prayer is that my son grows up knowing this: We donât measure legacy by what we haveâwe measure it by what we do with what weâve been given.
We were knocked down. We learned. We loved. We kept our promise.
And one dayâGod willingâour lifeâs work will keep helping others long after weâre gone.
