For those in New York who’ve never had a “split hot dog” from Walter’s Hot Dogs in Mamaroneck…you’re missing out on some of the most delicious dogs in the state! This Westchester County favorite has been around since 1919, and the little Palmer Avenue stand people know today dates back to 1928, with its eye-catching copper pagoda-style roof, dragon details and old-school roadside charm. You order at the window, then settle in outside at the picnic tables and umbrellas in a relaxed, park-like setting.

The hot dogs are sliced open, grilled until they have that perfect char, then tucked into warm buttered buns that are toasted just right. A lot of regulars go with the classic mustard, but you can round it out with curly fries, straight fries, thick milkshakes, New England clam chowder or seasonal favorites like hot apple cider. Walter’s was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2010, the parking lot behind the stand is free, the line usually moves fast, and the menu stays focused on exactly what made it famous.

Remember the Do It All Dudes from last summer? They were so overwhelmed with calls and texts, they created a job platform called Tsask where clients can hire a college student to get things done.
“For students, the more you fill out your profile, more likely you’ll be notified about jobs. There is a checklist. Students can upload a photo, where they go to school, what they’re studying, past work and skills. I expect babysitting and sports lessons will be huge.” – Lane Critchell, founder of Stask, pictured with Hunter Merritt. https://bit.ly/4upHDXj
