Before you fall in love with the kitchen, staging, or backyard, take a few minutes to look a little closer.
Here are 3 things I pay attention to when touring homes with buyers:
1️⃣ Water stains or freshly painted areas
Discoloration on ceilings, walls, or around windows can be worth investigating. Fresh paint isn’t automatically a problem, but it’s okay to ask what was repaired and why.
2️⃣ Doors or windows that stick or don’t close properly. Sometimes it’s something simple. Other times, movement or settling may be something you want a qualified inspector to evaluate.
3️⃣ Older electrical panels, HVAC systems, or major components. Older doesn’t necessarily mean bad, but knowing the approximate age and condition can help you understand what expenses may be coming after you purchase.
A home can look beautiful and still have things that deserve a closer look. That’s why inspections, disclosures, and asking the right questions matter.
Thinking about buying in the Sacramento area, Rocklin, Roseville, or the Bay Area? Send me a DM and I’ll help you navigate the process from the first showing through closing.
