Huge thank you to and for bringing such a cool experience to Midtown! ✨

Midtown Association looked to bring a new element to Second Saturday in 2025 with installations of large-scale sculptures from local artists that would stay up for more than 30 days, across two Second Saturdays. Through a regional call to artists, an artist selection committee selected work from 13 artists based on their artistic merit, creativity, community engagement, and social impact with a preference given to artwork that reflects Sacramento’s diverse communities. 🎨

🎨Art Pop Up: Contour is an interactive installation that deconstructs and reassembles form, identity, and sound. A sculpted and rotating foam structure frames embedded video screens, where real-time facial tracking captures and fragments participants’ expressions. Simultaneously, the participant’s voice is recorded, engineered, and restructured into evolving audio compositions that fill the space.
Through visual, sonic, and spatial layering, Contour invites participants to witness their own presence reinterpreted—fragmented and reformed across shifting surfaces, screens, and sounds.

The installation offers a landscape of continuous transformation, blurring the lines between observer and observed.

From poolside lounging (even though he might be dying to dive in), to fireside relaxation under the stars, and enjoying an endless supply of cold brew—he’s got the afterlife all figured out. Looks like he’s here to haunt…err, we mean stay forever! 🏊‍♂️☕🔥
