NAMI Clackamas is the grassroots non-profit organization providing free mental health education, support, and advocacy delivered by people with lived experience to improve quality of life for everyone in our community.
We Educate.
Our Education Programs ensure that families, individuals and educators in our community get the support and information they need.
We Advocate.
Staff and volunteers work collaboratively to shape national, state and local public policy for people with mental illness and their families. We provide volunteer leaders with the tools, resources and skills necessary to save mental health.
We Support.
Our Support Groups are free, drop-in, peer-led groups for adults living with mental illness and those who love and care about them. Participants gain insight from hearing the challenges and successes of others. Groups are led by NAMI-trained facilitators who have experiences similar to yours.
We Listen.
Our Peer Resource Coordinator (PeRC) program allows us to respond personally to hundreds of requests each year, providing free referral, information and support as well as help identifying and applying for benefits you may qualify for —a much-needed lifeline for many.
We Lead.
Public awareness events, presentations and activities, including Mental Illness Awareness Week, NAMIWalks, Ending the Silence, and In Our Own Voice, successfully fight stigma and discrimination, and encourage understanding.
💕”IT STARTS AT HOME” 💕
Being a psych major and advocating for mental wellness, I decided to start this platform to educate others on mental illness and the importance of self care. For every home that sells, 10% of my profit will go to a mental health non-profit organization/charity of my client’s choice! 💕 NAMI-Clackamas is one of my favorites, but there are also other great organizations, some to name a few: To Write Love On Her Arms., American Foundation for Su***de Prevention, Bring Change to Mind 🧠
I am a huge believer that “it starts at home,” the way you raise your children with love and support has a vital impact on their future. Reflectively speaking, one’s upbringing can influence one’s mental health. While many would love to own a home, a “home” is really anywhere one wants to make it… I hope that bringing mental health awareness, love and support to our communities and homes continues to improve many lives. 💕
