Sacramento just formally announced it is going after a Major League Baseball expansion team ⚾ 2.7 million people in the metro, 20th largest media market in the country, and only one major pro sports team. They already have $1.8 billion in local contributions assembled and a stadium site that is already zoned and entitled. Nashville and Salt Lake City are the frontrunners but Sacramento is now officially in the race.

Land Park’s favorite coffee and pottery cafe is expanding to Granite Bay ☕🎨

Sacramento’s most unique cafe concept just announced its second location and Granite Bay is the destination. Brew Bird Creative Cafe is taking over the former Peet’s Coffee space on Douglas Boulevard and it could open as early as end of July.

🏪 The Expansion
⬜ Brew Bird Creative Cafe 5550 Douglas Blvd Suite D110, Granite Bay
⬜ Taking over the former Peet’s Coffee space closed January 2026
⬜ Second location for the Sacramento based concept
⬜ Taking possession end of June with opening target end of July
☕ What Is Brew Bird?
🎨 Coffee, pastries AND pottery painting all under one roof
📍 Flagship location at 3193 Riverside Blvd in Land Park
🍦 Right next door to the iconic Vic’s Ice Cream
✨ One of the most unique cafe experiences in the entire Sacramento region
📍 Why Granite Bay Makes Perfect Sense

Granite Bay is exactly the kind of community that embraces experiential lifestyle concepts. Families, young professionals and a customer base ready for something more interesting than another national chain. Dropping into a former Peet’s location gives them great visibility on Douglas Boulevard and a built in coffee going audience that lost their spot in January.

This one is going to find its crowd fast.

👩‍🍳 Owner and chef Linda Yee called it “more intentional” this time around
❤️ Her words: a passion project done right

🍣 Who Is Linda Yee?

📍 Why Midtown Needed This
Midtown Sacramento’s dining scene keeps leveling up and Make Fish coming back is a reminder that the best stories in this city aren’t always about what’s new. Sometimes they’re about what returns, refined and ready.

Sacramento’s healthcare worker shortage just got a real solution 🏥🎓

🏗️ The Facility
📍 Folsom Lake College Rancho Cordova Center Folsom Boulevard
💰 $2.5 million state-of-the-art healthcare training hub
🤝 A partnership between Folsom Lake College and Sutter Health
🎯 Built specifically to close the Sacramento region’s workforce gap
📊 The Problem It’s Solving
⚠️ Sacramento region has 7,560 healthcare job openings every single year
🎓 Local programs only produce 460 graduates annually
📉 That’s a gap of over 7,100 workers — every year
🏥 Our hospitals are already operating at or above capacity

🔬 What Students Will Train For
🧪 Laboratory technology
☢️ Radiologic technology
🩻 Advanced imaging
🛏️ Hands-on simulation with real hospital equipment , beds, X-ray machines, simulators

🔗 The Sutter Partnership
Sutter Health’s Academic Partnerships team works directly with the college on curriculum, internships, and job placement. Students aren’t just earning a degree, they’re getting a direct pipeline into the regional healthcare workforce.

📍 Why This Matters for Sacramento
Our hospitals are overflowing. Kaiser Roseville runs above 100% capacity daily. Sutter is expanding across the region. Kaiser is building a 300+ bed hospital at the Railyards opening in 2029. All of that investment means nothing without the workforce to staff it.

This training hub is what solving the workforce side of Sacramento’s healthcare crisis actually looks like.

There’s a difference between a house that’s big… and a house that’s intentionally designed.

The Hazel floor plan by Shawood Homes in Folsom is their largest model, and honestly, every inch of this home feels thoughtfully planned out.

From the private in-law suite, to the massive indoor-outdoor patio space, to the hidden kids’ corner tucked away inside the home… this one just feels different. It’s modern, functional, and designed for real life — while still feeling like a luxury retreat.

🏡 Thoughtful layout
🌴 Incredible entertaining space
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Multi-generational living potential
✨ Hidden details throughout the home

If you’ve been thinking about new construction in Folsom, this is one you need to experience in person.

Part 2 at The Mill 👀

Okay… THIS might be my favorite part of the condo.

Upstairs patio with skyline views of downtown Sacramento 🌆

It’s one of those spaces that just feels relaxing the second you walk out there.

Honestly hard to believe this is just minutes from downtown.

Comment ‘CLEAT’ if you want the full details.

This is one of Sacramento’s greatest success stories and it just made headlines again 🛒👀

In 1935 Tom Raley opened a small grocery store in Placerville with a vision and a work ethic. Nearly 90 years later that single store became a $5.42 billion empire with 235+ locations across seven states.

And it is still headquartered right here in West Sacramento. 🙌

The Raley’s empire today:
🏪 235+ locations across seven states
9️⃣ Nine brands including Raley’s, Bel Air and Nob Hill Foods
💰 $5.42 billion in revenue in 2024
👥 4,347 local full time employees in Sacramento
👤 Grandson Michael Teel just stepped back in as CEO

The headlines:
🏡 Teel just sold the family’s Lake Tahoe estate called Wampum Lodge
💰 Sold for $17 million
📍 Tahoe City on the west shore of Lake Tahoe
📏 6,759 square feet on nearly 3 acres
🌊 134 feet of private lake frontage
🪵 Custom log cabin with stunning lake views

From one grocery store in a small Gold Country town to a $5.4 billion West Coast empire. The Raley family built something truly special right here in Sacramento.
