Are you tired of renting?
I hear you. Your goal is to own your own home!
How much do you need in total?
1. Down Payment
The minimum down payment is 3% for first-time homebuyers
The average person puts down 9%…
How much should I put down?
There’s no right or wrong answer. Every scenario is different, but GENERALLY your down payment will impact your mortgage payment, interest fees and buying power.
The MORE you put down, the better. Remember to save what’s realistic for your personal situation.
2. Closing Costs
Closing costs are usually between 1-6% of your purchase price…
AND this is in addition to your down payment.
The average a person pays is 3%, so double down your downpayment for your necessary cash to close
3. Emergency Fund
Not required at all! But it’s smart to have for a rainy day. I suggest 3-6 months of expenses set into a High-Yield Savings Account for emergencies.
