💻❤ Rescue Ministries is so thankful for another generous donation of laptops from AT&T and Human-I-T ‼ These will bless our Impact Program guests as they seek employment and housing, and will be gifted to those who move into their new homes through Impact Designs. 🏠The date July 2nd, 2026, is a day of celebration🎉 for one of our now former guests, Willie!

Willie has helped with chores, attended chapels, completed all the life skills classes, been active in case management, and has found sustainable income. After all this, Willie also found housing he can afford that will accommodate his needs❣.

With all the details in place, the Impact Team is now tapped in to Helping Home Happen! After learning of Willie's likes and dislikes in an interview, we set off to hunt in the warehouse of donated items for all the furniture, knick-knacks, kitchenware, linens, artwork, and other details to make Willie's new apartment a home😊🙌.

As you can see in the photos, Willie loves his new home💙! Another thing I am sure you noticed, is the reason Willie needed us for support. Because of a condition he was born with, Willie eventually needed both legs amputated. This tragedy, of course, comes with many new challenges and needed accommodations. One accommodation being a ramp to get into his former home; however, his previous land lord was not willing to help make that happen.

So, after leaving the hospital from the procedure, removing his other leg, he was unable to get into his own home. Willie had no option but to come to Good Samaritan Rescue Mission🙏.

This is one of many stories that show the need to continue in helping the hurting and the homeless! We are so grateful for all your donations (physical and monetary), your volunteer time, and your prayers🥰. Keep it up so together, we can continue Helping Home Happen for those that need it most‼

We are so grateful to the members of the Bay City Noon Optimist Club for their dedication in supporting the children staying at Good Samaritan Rescue Mission.

Each month, they host a birthday party 🎉for all of the children and in addition to that, this month they collected underwear to bless those in needed. They even thew in a bag of men's socks❣

👉😍 Rebecca Yager is a kitchen volunteer at City Rescue Mission and serves regularly as part of the dinner team. Recently she entered and won the Michigan State Fair "Homemaker of the State" Title‼️ Here's the scoop:

Rebecca says, "I chose to volunteer at CRM to be a part of something bigger than myself. I felt a call to serve and heard about the volunteer opportunity from the VP of Manufacturing at Fullerton Tools, Gary Bruff. I love the people at Rescue Ministries; from guests to staff and even fellow volunteers💜.

"Homemaker of the State" is a bit hard to explain. I view it as a way to honor the homemakers within our communities. I define a homemaker as anyone who utilizes their skills and their crafts to help make a welcoming environment wherever they go (for example a grandmother who lives in a senior living apartment that bakes cookies for her church or a 19-year-old who knits a baby blanket for her friend)." We are so proud of you, Rebecca! Way to go🙂!!

Check out this recipe that helped Rebecca win 2nd place in the baking contest - PINA COLADA COOKIES!

Cookie:
2 egg whites
½ c Pioneer Granulated Sugar
¼ c flour
1 t vanilla
1 bag, or 2 c shredded coconut

Garnish:
Crushed pineapple (well drained)
Maraschino cherries
White chocolate

Instructions:
Preheat oven to 325°. Mix eggs and sugar, add vanilla. Fold in flour, then coconut. Grease and flour a cookie sheet. Roll cookie dough into balls, creating a well in the middle. Bake for 20 minutes, or until golden brown on the edges. Bake longer if you like them crispier. When removing from the oven, use a spoon to push down well in the middle of the cookie. Let cool. Garnish by adding crushed pineapple in well, and maraschino cherry. Drizzle with melted white chocolate

👉We're so grateful that the Saginaw County Chamber of Commerce Leadership Class of 2027 stopped by City Rescue Mission for a visit this week!

Our team had a great time meeting the class members, providing information about our services, and being able to answer questions while showing them around😊‼

👉😄Thank you so much to the congregation members of Messiah Lutheran in Carrolton. They donated these adorable Labor Day treats for the kids at City Rescue Mission💟.

The church body also worked together to collect 22lbs of Hope & Care hygiene products to bless the mission guests❣ Thank you so much to all who were able to donate 🥰!
