Miss Daisy really loves fresh fruit and veggies. She loves them frozen too. Despite all the videos you see of ducks eating their veggies, like peas, in water…she is not a fan of her fresh or frozen produce served that way, but…

A morning smoothie with her favorite berries and spinach she lovesssss it! Straight fresh blueberries, strawberries, or raspberries stain things easily and somehow she gets the juices flung for miles 😩 as a smoothie, it gets watered down a little. However, I wouldn’t let her eat either without a little floor protection…

If I were looking for a close-knit community in Northeast Florida, these are four neighborhoods I’d explore:

🌿 TrailMark in St. Johns County
This is the kind of place where neighbors gather for community events, live music, holiday celebrations and nature activities. With shared amenities, walking trails and plenty of gathering spaces, it’s easy to meet people and feel connected. I may be a little biased because I call TrailMark home!

🚤 RiverTown in St. Johns County
RiverTown’s parks, trails, riverfront amenities and community activities create plenty of natural opportunities for neighbors to connect. It offers that active, social lifestyle while still giving each neighborhood its own personality.

🎨 Murray Hill in Duval County
If you prefer an established neighborhood with local personality, Murray Hill is worth exploring. Its neighborhood association, farmers market, locally owned restaurants and regular events help create a strong sense of community.

🏡 Riverside and Avondale in Duval County
These historic neighborhoods combine beautiful architecture with walkable shopping districts, parks, local businesses and community events. It’s a great option for someone who wants that neighborhood connection woven into everyday life.

A close-knit community can look different for everyone. It might mean planned resident events and shared amenities, or it could mean front porches, local businesses and neighbors gathering at the same park every weekend.

We didn't just choose to move here once, we've chosen to live here over and over again. Here's why! 👇🏼

A little backstory:
The short answer is that my husband’s job relocated us. We had always hoped to retire in Florida someday, so we saw it as an opportunity to make the move earlier than planned, with a little help covering the relocation costs.

Our kids were only 11 and 14 at the time. Somehow, they are both adults now, even though the move still feels like it happened yesterday!

My husband originally chose Northeast Florida because it gave him convenient access to an airport and placed him near the majority of his accounts as a district manager.

And NOW:
Knowing what I know now, I would choose St. Augustine all over again.

In my opinion, Northeast Florida is Florida’s sweet spot. We get about three seasons, so there is still some variety throughout the year. Yes, we even get a few changing leaves!

Jacksonville is just north of us, giving us access to a major airport, Broadway shows, professional sports and everything that comes with a larger city. Here in St. Augustine, we have the nation’s oldest city, beautiful architecture, history and plenty to explore. It was such a fun area for raising kids because there was always somewhere new to visit.

Within an hour or two, we can explore Florida’s natural springs, choose from so many different beaches or plan an easy day trip. And, of course, Disney and Universal are just a little over two hours away.

We originally chose St. Augustine because it made sense for my husband’s job. Today, I would choose it because of the life we have been able to build here.

Cold Cow is one of those wonderfully nostalgic St. Augustine spots where the biggest decision of the day is choosing between a cup, cone, sundae or milkshake. With plenty of flavors, generous scoops and that friendly neighborhood ice cream shop feel, it’s an easy win for date night, family night or a “we survived the day” treat.

Fair warning: choosing your flavor may take longer than eating it. 😂

Honestly, I’m incredibly grateful to have been included. I’ve never wanted my business to be defined by a sales number. My focus has always been on building genuine relationships, serving people well, and trusting that the sales will naturally follow.
