461st ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS! 🗝️🇪🇸 Saturday, Sept 12: St. Augustine Founder’s Day Landing re-enactment events will take place at the Mission Nombre de Dios and the Fountain of Youth Archaeological Park! The Diocese of St. Augustine hosts the landing event, which includes re-enactors from Florida Historic Militia.

The celebration of St. Augustine’s 461st anniversary at the Mission Nombre de Dios will include a reenactment of Pedro Menéndez de Avilés’ 1565 landing, the traditional proclamation by Mayor Nancy Sikes-Kline, an outdoor Mass celebrated by Bishop Erik Pohlmeier and a procession to the Fountain of Youth Archaeological Park. Several city officials and Sonia San Juan, honorary consul of Spain, are also expected to attend.

🇪🇸10 a.m. Menendez and crew land at Mission Nombre de Dios grounds, FREE
🇪🇸11 a.m. Catholic Mass at Rustic Altar on Mission grounds, FREE (bring a folding chair)
