If you’re looking for a local waterfront restaurant in St Augustine, try the OutBack Crab Shack 🔥Tucked away off Sixmile Creek off the St John’s River, you’ll find a dock for your boat, full bar (indoor and outdoor) and yummy food. I remember when this place was just a cute little restaurant by the river- now it’s… beautiful? Huge? Kinda boujee? Gives Clark’s Fish Camp vibes when they decided to expand (before they closed 😭)? Something like that. Go on by there and lemme know what you think in the comments.

I’m talking to you, my fellow Millennials. One day we wake up at the age of 40 and we’re like, omg, I have zero saved for retirement and I’ve worked for myself and don’t have an IRA etc. I’ve heard it. I get it. The good news - there’s still time and more importantly OPPORTUNITY to turn that frown upside down when it comes to financial security when we no longer want to work, aka retirement. Private money lending is one of my favorite ways to save for the future. The opportunity to watch your hard-earned money grow while you sit back and watch is pretty amazing. Maybe it’s because Realtors (and moms, wives, etc.. you know the type) have 92756 tabs open at all times. But you will hear them saying things out loud to verify that they actually did the thing. Yeah, it’s a thing.

Legit Hansel and Gretel vibes over here in River Park Villas 🏡 Built in 1984 with 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, .69 acres and so much character. Renovated kitchen, fun little cubby-hole type spaces in all the bedrooms. Man. To think of all the fun to be had as a kid living here. And there’s a separate cabinet just for canned goods?! How cool is that. And the wooden beams, and the lions on the staircase, and the cute paved walkway down to the little creek in the backyard.. definitely feels like a story-book type house.

If you’re looking for a family-friendly sports pub type place, hit up Gators Dockside in St. Johns (aka Fruit Cove). Grab a beer on tap, or have Randy the awesome bartender make you the perfect margarita. Order the mini burgers with cajun fries or broccoli (idk why their broccoli is so dang good), the fried pickles (Gator bites are pictured and those are also amazing), any of the pasta dishes, the nachos… I mean the list goes on and on. They have trivia nights and bingo nights for you night owls but since my brain and body like to shut down with the sun.. I’m more of a lunch-date kinda gal, in case you were curious.

Moral of the story- go to Gators in “St. Johns” aka Fruit Cove (because I refuse to call my old stomping grounds of Fruit Cove and Switzerland “St. Johns” because St. Johns is a county and not a city and I’m done ranting) 😆 Oh- and sit at the bar to see Randy. He’s the best!
