sparkles to life at 6:30 p.m. in St. Augustine’s Plaza de la
Constitucion. During Nights of Lights, nearly three million tiny
white lights bring the glow of holiday magic to St. Augustine - from
the ground to the rooftops. Selected by National Geographic in
2011 and 2012 as one of the ten best holiday lighting displays in
the world. Holiday music, the lighting of the city’s Christmas tree
and an exciting countdown add to the splendor of the lighting of
this dazzling holiday light display. Tracing its origins to the Spanish
tradition of displaying a white candle in the window during the
Christmas holidays, the spectacular lighting reflects the city’s 449-
year history and illuminates the beautiful setting for lasting holiday
memories. The lights are displayed through January 31.

El Galeon is coming back! The 495-ton 16th century replica wooden ship El Galeón is returning to St. Augustine along with a sister ship, the Nao Victoria. Both tall ships will be docked at the St. Augustine Municipal Marina in the St. Augustine historic district marking the first time the two ships have ever docked in the same port in North America.
The Nao Victoria will arrive first, on or about December 25 depending on sailing conditions. The Nao Victoria is a replica of the first ship to successfully circumnavigate the world commanded by Ferdinand Magellan in the 16th century. It is smaller than El Galeón, coming in at just over 85 feet.
El Galeón is scheduled to arrive in St. Augustine on or about January 6.
Both ships will remain in St. Augustine through the end of January and will be open for public tours.

It's been a great year, St. Augustine is one of the top 15 travel destinations, one of the 10 best places in the world to see holiday lights and our county was named the healthiest county in the state!
