🌸Dressing Louisa: A Lifetime of Fashion at Ximenez-Fatio House
Daily through May 14: Dressing Louisa: A Lifetime of Fashion is on view throughout the former boarding house rooms at the Ximenez-Fatio House Museum in St. Augustine, Florida. Clothing that Louisa Fatio (1797-1875) would have worn during each decade of the 1800s is on view in each room of this historic house. Louisa Fatio is the last owner of the former boarding house, from 1851-1875. Louisa was born Luisa Phelipa Patricia Fatio on March 17, 1797 in St. Johns County, Spanish Florida. In 1851, at the age of 54, she came to Mrs. Anderson’s to work as the boarding house manager. In 1855 she purchased the building and property from Mrs. Anderson for $3,000. Louisa added a second story to the west wing of the house adding an additional four rooms to rent. Louisa passed away in the house in 1875 at the age of 78. May 4: EMMA Concert Association hosts a performance by the St. Augustine Orchestra on Saturday, May 4 at 7:30 p.m. in Lewis Auditorium at Flagler College. Unidos en la Música will take place from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, May 6 at Francis Field in downtown St. Augustine. Unidos en la Música is an event of Latin Community Services Inc. — a non-profit organization dedicated to promote education and change the conversation while fighting stigmas within the Latin American Community. May 30-August 29: The City of St. Augustine presents the annual summer music series, Concerts in the Plaza with a new time of 6-8 p.m. every Thursday from May 30 through August 29 in gazebo of the Plaza de la Constitucion in downtown St. Augustine, between King Street and Cathedral Plaza. The lineup includes 14 musical groups — some who have performed for many years during this series, and many others who are new to the St. Augustine stage! Admission is free.
