🏡 The house appraised… now what?
While you’re waiting for closing day, there are still a few important things to do, and a few things you definitely shouldn’t do.
5 things to do while you wait for closing:
1️⃣ Start planning your move 📦
Book the movers, reserve the truck, start packing and figure out the logistics for moving day. Just be cautious about making non-refundable plans until your closing is confirmed.
2️⃣ Set up your utilities 💡
Contact electric, gas, water, internet and any other providers so service is ready to transfer into your name around closing day.
3️⃣ Keep your finances BORING 💳
This is NOT the time to finance furniture, open a new credit card, buy a car or take out a new line of credit. Your lender may verify your credit, employment and finances again before closing.
4️⃣ Prepare for the final walkthrough 🔑
We will take one last look at the home shortly before closing to make sure it is in the expected condition and agreed-upon repairs have been completed.
5️⃣ Watch for final closing instructions 💰
Stay in touch with your lender, agent, and attorney/title company. Be ready for your final cash-to-close amount and always independently verify wire instructions before sending money.
