Florida could soon become the first state in the country to dramatically reduce or eliminate property taxes for many homeowners. A proposed constitutional amendment heading to the 2026 ballot would increase the homestead exemption to as much as $250,000, potentially reducing non-school property taxes to zero for some primary residences.
