A curfew will be in place from 8 p.m. tonight, Wednesday, October 9, until 10 a.m. Thursday, October 10. The curfew does not apply to first responders, health care workers, and other essential workers. If you are traveling to and from work, be sure to have your ID and work phone number ready.

Based on the latest projections for Hurricane Milton, all curbside collection services for Wednesday, October 9th, and Thursday, October 10th are cancelled. Please secure all garbage carts and remove any bulk items from the curb as the storm approaches. For real-time updates, visit www.WMfloridastorm.com.

Additionally, the Bass Road Yard Waste Disposal site and Kenansville Drop-off sites will also be closed on Wednesday and Thursday.

Keep an eye on the weather and be prepared. It doesn't hurt to be cautious.

While there are no immediate impacts forecast for the City of St. Cloud at this time, meteorologists with the US National Weather Service are tracking an area of low pressure in the Caribbean that has a high likelihood of formation in the next two to three days. Given the warm conditions in the Gulf of Mexico, the system could quickly strengthen into a category 1 or 2 hurricane.

Please take time now to review your emergency plan and make sure you have the supplies you might need – just in case. In addition, please pay close attention to local weather forecasts.

The first of two pop-up safety events today in the City is going on now at 10th St and Mississippi, with the crew from Best Foot Forward reminding drivers about the importance of crosswalk safety.

This afternoon, FDOT Central Florida will host an event along 13th St including Florida, Indiana, and Michigan Avenues to promote safety for those walking or biking to and from area schools.

If your house looked like this the past several weeks, you may be interested to know that not only can you flatten clean cardboard boxes and put them in your recycle bin, you also can bring them to our Transfer Station, 2705 Peghorn Way, where you can drop them off for free.
