Every mechanical room in a Werschay Home gets dropped two inches below the surrounding floor. David explains why in this one. It is not a matter of if a mechanical room ever sees water, it is a matter of when, whether that is a supply line letting go or a water heater finally giving out after years of service.

That two inch drop means the room contains the water instead of sending it into the rest of the house. Nobody notices this detail until the day they need it, which is exactly the point. It is one more thing we build into every custom home in the St. Cloud area without anyone having to ask for it.
