The Winter 2024 edition of Collections Magazine is coming later this month, and we couldn't be more excited. In honor of the new edition, we'd like to share the story behind the back cover of last year's Winter 23 Collections Magazine.

In the photo is Bill Shorter, jumping across an avalanche slide and his Chevrolet Corvair at Alta in 1965. The photo was taken by Ted Johnson, founder of Snowbird, during a week long storm interlodge. Bill, now 83 and alive with the spirit of the Cottonwood Canyons, is a living testament to his enduring acclaim for "the greatest snow on earth". Join us as Bill shares his love for the glory days, skiing alongside ski legends like Junior Bounous, Suzie Rhytting, and Alf Engen, marking his own trail into Utah's rich ski history.
