Some days carry a weight that never really leaves us. 9/11 is one of those days... a day that changed families, futures, and the quiet everyday moments people thought they’d always have.
When we remember, we’re not only honoring the lives that were lost or the bravery that rose in the middle of fear. We’re honoring the simple things those folks never got to experience again; another sunset, another hug, another ordinary morning with the people they loved.
Grief has a way of teaching us how precious joy really is. It reminds us that the small moments matter. The laughter in the kitchen, the familiar voices in the house, the comfort of knowing your people made it home safe. It reminds us to slow down, to appreciate the sweetness in front of us, and to hold tight to the ones who are still here.
Remembrance isn’t just sorrow. It’s love. It’s gratitude. It’s choosing to treasure the life we have because of what was lost.
Today, we honor the lost, we honor the brave, and we cherish the people still beside us. Life can change in an instant. Love should never be taken lightly.
