Hurricane season begins 1 month from today. I know that none of us want to even think about another hurricane after Ian but the possibility is very real. As I'm getting things ready just in case I have to evacuate, I came upon this very helpful list of documents to bring with me just in case. I wanted to share it with all of you. Make sure you have a fire and water resistant file box with a lock (you can find these on Amazon) with all of these important documents ready to go. Don't forget your insurance documents as well. (Can't remember if they were on this list)
‼️One more really important thing to remember is ‼️ don't put totes under your bed or down low thinking they're plastic with lids and they won't get water in them‼️
I helped my husband clean out several homes after Hurricane Ian. ALL of them had totes under beds, etc. with important documents, pictures, keepsakes, etc. FULL of water! Store them up high!
A disaster can lead to losing important personal documents. Be prepared by understanding which documents to protect, how to keep them safe and backed-up.
