We moved the chicken coop to some fresh grass today… and apparently several chickens interpreted that as an invitation to make a run for freedom. 🐔🏃‍♀️😂

What followed was a full family recovery mission featuring Penelope, Pheona, and Ellie the dog. Everyone had a job, although we’re not entirely sure Ellie understood the assignment.

The chickens enjoyed their brief taste of independence, the girls got plenty of exercise, and eventually everyone made it safely back to the coop.

Lights on, chickens tucked in, and another day on the homestead coming to an end 🐔✨

One thing real estate and chickens have taught me? Home isn’t about perfection, it’s about creating a place that feels safe, warm, and loved ❤️

Tonight the girls are settling into their coop while we settle into ours. There’s just something peaceful about ending the day with happy chickens, fresh air, and a little country quiet 🌙
