From the lake shoot 🤍

It takes the whole team to make a room look this easy. Nobody sees the twelve pairs of hands it took, which is sort of the point 😉

The coffee station people still ask about ☕️

A built-in Miele so the counters stay clear.
A nook sized for a step stool, for those of us who design from a slightly shorter point of view.
Open shelving for the mugs you actually use.

Which detail would you steal for your own kitchen?

Part of what we do that you never really see: the hunting.

We are always scouting antiques, some for our clients’ homes, some to style a shoot. Those one-of-a-kind pieces with a little history are what keep a room from looking staged. And honestly, the search is one of our favorite parts!!

Come take a walk through one of our favorite homes.

From the kitchen, your eye travels straight through the scullery and lands on the office tucked beyond. We love designing homes that unfold this way, one connected space flowing into the next, each with its own personality but all speaking the same language. Swipe to follow the path 🤍

The best rooms are the ones that pull people in.

A kitchen island everyone ends up leaning on, a banquette worth lingering in, a table that always seems to fit one more chair. We design for the way you actually gather, because a beautiful home is really just the backdrop for the people in it. More on designing for the way we gather in our August Davis Design Edit, linked in our bio.

The magic is never one big thing. It is all the small ones.

In this dining room, it is the softly striped wallpaper, the tie-on cushions on simple wood chairs, the warm wood table with a little age. On their own, none of them ask for attention.

Together, they are what make a room feel collected, warm, and truly lived in. That is the part you cannot buy in a single purchase. It is built, layer by layer.

Which detail is your favorite? 🤍

The room that surprises clients most? The laundry room 🫧

We give it the same care as the kitchen… a deep sink, hardworking storage, and enough counter to actually fold on.

The rooms you use every day deserve the most thoughtful design, not the least.

When I’m stuck on a palette, I stop looking at paint decks and look out the window.

A Minnesota summer already holds every color you’d ever need. The gold on the water at dusk, a hundred quiet greens, the softest blues and grays overhead.

Nature never gets the proportions wrong.

The best inspiration isn’t in a showroom. It’s the ordinary beauty right outside, when you slow down enough to see it.

What’s inspiring you this week? ♥️
