Earlier this week, a fire occurred at one of our apartment communities in Bloomington. We are incredibly grateful that no residents or first responders were seriously injured, and we want to take a moment to recognize the people and organizations who showed up for our community during a very difficult situation.
Thank you to the Bloomington Firefighters Local 5484 for their quick response and tireless efforts to keep residents safe.
Thank you to the Bloomington Festival Foods for being such a thoughtful community neighbor by providing coffee and pastries for residents and first responders during the day’s events. Small acts of kindness like that make a meaningful difference in difficult moments.
Thank you to Metro Transit for providing a city bus so residents had a warm, safe place to gather during the response efforts.
And thank you to ICC Restoration & Cleaning Services
for immediately stepping in to help “get life back to normal fast.” Because of their quick work with air scrubbing and restoration efforts, 91 of the community’s 102 apartment homes were able to return home that same day.
While 11 apartment homes remain displaced due to fire damage, our team is continuing to work closely with those residents to support relocation and recovery efforts.
Moments like this are a reminder that community is more than a place—it’s people showing up for one another when it matters most. We’re incredibly grateful for the compassion, support, and professionalism shown by everyone involved this week.
As always, MCMC’s Mission is "with integrity and compassion, we create communities by providing quality housing for our residents and stability for our property owners and team."
