Completed in 1983, City Walk Condominium was one of the first condos in Downtown Saint Paul to be connected to the skyway system. City Walk condominiums are built on top of an 11 story parking structure, most of the parking is public, but the top floors are private for the residents. The 228 condominiums start on the 12th floor and rise to the 27th floor and consist primarily of 1 and 2 bedroom units with a few efficiency and 3 bedroom units. One of the unique aspects of City Walk is the outdoor pool, City Walk is the only condo building in Downtown with an outdoor pool. The building also has their party room and fitness center on the 12th floor for easy access to the patio and pool out the sliding glass doors. Recent improvements to the building include new windows and most units have new patio doors. A major improvement to the heating and cooling system occurred several years ago when City Walk converted to District Energy. Neighborhood
The Fitzgerald Park neighborhood was named just a few years ago (2006) as part of the Fitzgerald Park Task Force. The neighborhood currently lacks the for mentioned larger park, but it's part of the City of Saint Paul's long-term comprehensive plan. A smaller version of the park has been renamed Pedro Park (in honor of the Pedro family that donated the land) and is on the corner of 10th Street and Roberts. The future park would be just a stone's throw away from City Walk. The Park would be bound by 9th & 10th Streets on the South and North and Minnesota & Roberts Streets on the West and East. The crown jewel of the neighborhood right now has got to be the new Lunds & Byerlys grocery store just two blocks away and the new Green Line light rail stop just one block from City Walk. In addition, a long time favorite has been Key's Cafe, some honest-to-goodness home cooking. You can't go wrong with breakfast at Key's! Governance & Management
