2024 Energize Saint Paul Recognition - Recognizing Excellence in Energy Efficiency: The Golden Rule Building Achieves 99% Rating!

The Golden Rule Building continues to lead the way in energy efficiency, earning an impressive 99% rating this year.

Each year, the City of Saint Paul honors building owners, managers, engineers, and others at the annual Recognition Ceremony for their exceptional work and leadership in energy efficiency. As part of the City’s energy benchmarking ordinance, all buildings over 50,000 square feet are required to track their energy and water usage annually. The Energize Saint Paul team acknowledges those who go above and beyond by fully benchmarking their buildings and demonstrating strong leadership in energy efficiency. Recognition is typically awarded to buildings that earn an ENERGY STAR Certification, achieve a high ENERGY STAR score, or reduce their Energy Use Intensity (EUI) through strategic improvements and energy management.

The Golden Rule Building is proud to be recognized for our outstanding energy efficiency efforts, earning a 99% rating this year. We have maintained a rating above 94% every year since 2002, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to energy efficiency.

The energy used in buildings is currently one of the largest sources of greenhouse gas emissions in Saint Paul. The work that building operators do every year to track their energy use and make energy efficiency improvements to their buildings contributes directly to the City of Saint Paul’s goal of combatting climate change and reaching carbon neutrality by 2050.

As a building that prioritizes sustainability, we offer leasing opportunities in a space that aligns with your commitment to environmental responsibility. Join us in creating a greener future—where energy efficiency and sustainability are at the heart of every operation. Contact us today to learn more about available spaces at (651) 290-8893!
