We’re aware of a scam operating in our area involving a company offering blacktopping services that performs poor or incomplete work and then uses intimidation to get people to pay more than what he quoted for the job.
The scam is targeting senior citizens and has operated in other states before coming to Minnesota. We encourage seniors – and all other residents – to get a signed quote for work, not pay until the work has been completed and to vet any company that shows up unannounced at your residence offering this type of service.
