Saint Small.
. And if you don't, some context. And a little example. And a suggestion. And an ask. And a giveaway.
I know. It's a lot. But bear with me. It might be fun, or at least interesting, and you could WIN!
Some context. I often say that this Capital City of ours operates like a small town, and I am not the only one who says so. Just ask around. We all have stories about finding only one degree of separation with most folks we meet. You have to be careful about what you say to whom, because the person you are talking TO may likely know the person you are talking ABOUT - be it by blood or by marriage, or they may have worked together or their grandparents were each other's first kiss...you get the idea.
A little example. A few weeks ago, one of my lender partners referred me to one of his clients because he thought I might be a good fit to help them find their daughter a house. After a few phone calls and emails, I finally connected with their daughter, who would be the driver of the whole search. We chatted a bit, and she told me she lives in the St. Paul Art Collective. I was like 'ah yah, someone in my cohort at Leadership Saint Paul lives there, and he was so excited last month because he got a job as like the director or something...' She was like 'WAIT WHAT YOU KNOW MY HUSBAND?' I met with them yesterday, and Mariusz was so nervous because he had just spoken with Cathy Wurzer's vetting folks about interviewing with her this am (listen here: https://www.mprnews.org/.../this-weekends-st-paul-art...), and I was like oh I totally know Cathy, yada yada. This happens all. The. Time. So. Saint Small.
A suggestion: Support local artists this weekend at the art crawl. Visit www.stpaulartcollective.org for more details. More than most weekends, they could use your love this weekend.
An ask: Please support two lovely ladies I watched the grow up in our Saintly City who are embarking on a business venture. Like and follow Saintly MN.
