I have lived in St. Peters for 35 years and much has changed. Mexico Rd. was a 2 lane blacktop. Post office use to be where Michaels Flooring is. Mid Rivers Mall had only one anchor store. Mid Rivers Dr. stopped at Mexico Rd., City hall was a small building off Mexico Rd. (near Cave Springs Blvd.) The Rec Plex did not exist. We enjoy a lot of nice additions. Pedestrian and biking trails, 370 Lakeside Park, Traffic signals that actually keep traffic moving, new businesses / new jobs, and more.
A concern I have for the future is how our wet lands are being filled in so that they can be built on.
Some examples are, 1. Dardenne Creek at Mid Rivers Dr. and Ohms Rd. 2. The area between 364 and Hwy N, This also dumps into Dardenne Creek. 3. Dardenne Creek boarders Rabbit Run Park. The park always flooded but use to drain in a few days. Now the water reaches 4,5,6ft. You can not see the stop sign at the entry to the park. I will admit this does not happen every time, but it does happen.
Dardenne Creek is also the bridge that flooded on Hwy 70 in July 2022. Coincidence ?
