ROAD CLOSURE IN OUR AREA:
Stretch of Southbound 34th Street South closing Tuesday Night for Repaving!
Motorists planning to travel south on 34th Street South between 30th Avenue South and 38th Avenue South overnight Tuesday should seek an alternate route.
Beginning at 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 3rd, until 5 a.m. Wednesday, June 4th, all southbound lanes and adjacent intersections from the 3000 to 3800 blocks on 34th Street South will close for repaving, weather permitting.
All northbound lanes on 34th Street South will remain open to traffic.
During the southbound lane closure, motorists on 34th Street South will be directed to make a left onto 26th Avenue South then travel to southbound Interstate 275. Take the interstate south to Exit 17, which is 54th Avenue South. Then turn right on 54th Ave. S. and proceed west to 34th Street South.
Warning signs and electronic message boards will be placed in the area in advance to advise drivers about the detour.
The repaving is part of ongoing road work along a section of US 19 (34th Street North and South in St. Petersburg) from State Road 682 (54th Avenue South) to 22nd Avenue North in Pinellas County.
