Pinellas homeowners impacted by hurricanes can now apply for up to $30,000 in repair assistance through the Hurricane Home Repair Program. This program is available to residents in unincorporated Pinellas County and most cities. It prioritizes special needs and low-income households earning less than 120 percent of the Area Median Income. All construction work must be completed by licensed and insured contractors, covering repairs such as roof replacements, tree removal, mold remediation and similar projects. Apply now at pinellas.gov/stormrepair and text RECOVER to 888777 for updates on future assistance programs. Be sure to have required documents ready, including your FEMA award or denial letter, bank statements and Social Security card.

Was your home rendered uninhabitable by Hurricane Helene? You may be eligible for a partial property tax refund due to damage associated with the catastrophic event. The following conditions apply:
• The property must have been rendered uninhabitable for AT LEAST 30 days from damage associated with a hurricane or other catastrophic event.
• The owner must provide our office a completed DR-465 Application for Catastrophic Event Tax Refund:https://floridarevenue.com/property/Documents/dr465.pdf
• The form must be accompanied by supporting documentation showing the real property could not be inhabited following the date of the catastrophic event.
• This includes utility bills, insurance claims, contractor statements, permit applications, or certificates of occupancy.
• The taxpayer is still responsible for paying property taxes owed, if eligible, a partial REFUND will be issued to the taxpayer after timely payment of the taxes.

• If you want your disaster assistance funds sent directly to your bank, provide FEMA your bank information
