🤍 I’m Joy, and I’ve had the incredible opportunity to own Embrace Your Space for the past decade. I’m proud of the business our Team has built over 10 years, and our success is because of them and their faith in me. I can’t wait for you to “meet” our Designers, but first here is my story.

✨How it Started
Ten years ago, I was introduced to a friend who saw my talent for organizing & design, and she became my first official client. I quickly realized that she was a business genius, mentor, and the person who would give me the tools to start Embrace Your Space. She believed in me, and pushed me past my own fears. After working with her, the referrals poured in. The business grew quickly, and I needed help. After hiring two talented ladies, (and close friends) we started to form our own identity and process. They trusted me through the early years, and they are still a part of our Team today. I’m humbly grateful to each Designer, past and present, for ALL they have contributed.

✨My Roots
I was born in Pennsylvania, and moved to Sarasota/Bradenton when I was 12. I’m a proud Manatee High School graduate!

✨Decorating Dreams
When I was young, my mom was an Interior Decorator. I was fascinated by watching her in action. I was constantly redecorating my own room in high school and college. As an adult, I found myself organizing and decorating for friends and family. It’s always been natural for me.

✨Strengths
I ask my clients a lot of questions! I want to understand their needs and vision from the first time we meet. Decorating is relational for me. I try to make the experience personal and memorable for them. Each room I design has it’s own “personality” and feeling to it.

✨The Reward
Walking the clients into their new room on Reveal Day and seeing the emotion is the best! When they tell me they love it and they can’t believe it’s their house, it brings me so much joy. I always laugh when they tell me they feel like they are on a TV show!

✨Favorite Project Memory
I recently worked with a client who had just received a cancer diagnosis right before our consultation. Throughout the project, she updated me on her treatments, progress, and ultimately her recovery. I felt honored that she trusted me during such a difficult time. The decorating made her happy and hopeful. That meant the world to me!

✨Team Love
Honestly, I enjoy everything about our Team! These ladies are the reason this business exists. They are my source of ideas, support, friendship, and comic relief. We help one another, and there is genuine love between us—without competition. We have a rare dynamic.

✨Free Time
I love traveling, boating, beaching, shopping, going to concerts, Girls’ Nights, and being with my family.

✨Family
I have been married to my husband, John, for 22 years. We met through mutual friends at a wedding! We have an 18 year old son, Alex, 15 year old daughter, Annie, and a Maltese named Bear. 🤍

Today marks an emotional end to a wonderful season in this home for me and a bright and beautiful season for our new owners. I am thankful to have lived in this home for over 5 1/2 years. Best neighbors ever!
