We are proud to be recognized among some amazing businesses that are using their influence and resources to build a better world.

We recertified this year, raising our score from 107.7 to 149.4. The minimum verified score to become a is 80.

This year we will complete our Royal townhome project in and begin our new Bismarck project. We are the only B Corp developer in the state of Florida and we believe that building our community and our state is more important than the buildings we construct, which is is why we donate at least 50% of our profits to For Good Movement (supports Florida For Good & B Tourism) & related charities.

If you haven’t been to St Pete, it is worth visiting and even worth relocating. It is a special part of Florida- beautiful, vibrant, and progressive.

In recent article, the Business Observer examined the housing crisis that persists in the St. Pete area leaving many future homeowners searching for answers as they navigate this harrowing predicament.

The writers spoke with some creative leaders in business and government who are on the front lines of delivering sustainable solutions. Among those, our founder Jared M. Meyers shared his thoughts on what it will take - namely mentioning that the private sector has as much responsibility for addressing affordable housing as the government does.

Jared believes that in order to keep housing affordable, there needs to be more focus on what is the root cause of the problem. That means making sure employees earn a livable wage and creating a network of businesses that are “a force for good” - something he accomplishes through his B Corp status and co-created Florida For Good network.

He went on to say in the article that companies like this would offer “high-quality jobs with dignity and purpose, reduce inequality, alleviate poverty, protect local environments and support communities.”

Jared shared “I am very proud of what we do at Salt Palm Development, but when it comes to directly creating affordable housing, we aren’t there yet.”

Salt Palm hopes in the future we can continue to use our business as a force for good so that we may directly tackle this issue and continue to enhance our communities.

Happy World Oceans day!

The theme of this year’s UN event is The Ocean: Life and livelihoods and it couldn’t be a more perfect title to describe what the ocean means for our planet. Here in our home state of Florida, so many lives are built around this precious ecosystem. From the Gulf to the Atlantic - the ocean (basically) touches every part of us.

Across the world, it covers over 70% of the planet. It is our life source, supporting humanity’s sustenance and that of every other organism on earth.

The ocean produces at least 50% of the planet’s oxygen, it is home to most of earth’s biodiversity, and is the main source of protein for more than a billion people around the world. Not to mention, the ocean is key to our economy with an estimated 40 million people being employed by ocean-based industries by 2030.

Even though all its benefits, the ocean is now in need of support.

To protect and preserve the ocean and all it sustains, we must create a new balance, rooted in true understanding of the ocean and how humanity relates to it. We must build a connection to the ocean that is inclusive, innovative, and informed by lessons from the past.

“The Ocean: Life and Livelihoods” is the theme for World Oceans Day 2021, as well as a declaration of intentions that launches a decade of challenges to get the Sustainable Development Goal 14, “Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources”, by 2030.
