This would be a great market for buyers, if only rates would come down.

More inventory and longer days on market means buyers have more options and some time to consider whether a specific purchase is the right one for them 👌🏻

UPDATE #1 - MILTON

While still in recovery from Hurricane Helene, City teams are preparing for Tropical Storm Milton. Storm impacts may begin as early as Tuesday evening, so the City is encouraging residents to prepare.

Debris Update:

In preparation for , the City has secured additional contractors to deploy to St. Pete. These trucks will be working 24/7 to clear as much storm debris as possible ahead of the storm. This is a top priority, St. Pete.

In the meantime, here are your other options if you want to take care of your debris yourself: Note, ALL storm debris must be separated.
- Take all vegetative debris to a City brush site. They are open 7 days a week 9 a.m. -5:30 p.m. www.stpete.org/brushsites . Please read the steps and fill out the form listed on the website before you head that way.
- Hire a private hauler – they are approved to dump debris at these sites: https://pinellas.gov/emergency-information-3/sand-and-debris-cleanup/
- Secure your debris: cover your debris with tarps / straps and tie it down, if possible.

The City is working with FDEP on a St. Pete specific site-plan for residents and private haulers to be able to dump their own debris. Stay tuned for more details.

What’s happening with flooding in St. Pete?

• It’s not just us; unprecedented rain events and flooding have been happening all over Tampa Bay and across the state of Florida.

• There’s been a significant amount of rain in a short time which is causing flooding throughout the city.

• Grounds are completely saturated. This means that rainwater that would normally soak into the ground is now running off into the street.

• Our system was built decades ago to handle 7.5 inches within 24 hours, and in the past 10 days, rain gauges throughout the city have reported that they have received 4-5 inches in just one hour. Standard Florida drainage systems are not built to handle that much water in such a short span of time.

What are we doing?

• Since 2016, the City has invested approx. $2 billion to operate, maintain, and repair aging infrastructure and increase resiliency for the future.

• City teams are out today surveying most impacted areas and clearing storm drains.

• The City is increasing funding in FY25 for stormwater management.

What you need to know about tonight:

• More rain is in the forecast; please check your local weather channel for information and timing.

• City public safety officials will be stationed at repetitive flooding areas to ensure vehicles can safely move through.

• DO NOT drive your vehicle through flooded streets. Turn around and find another route.

Trees are an amazing way to keep our city cooler! They soak up sunlight before it bakes into the concrete, they absorb CO2 and release O2, and they are pretty.

If you need more trees in your local corner of our community check out this grant program from the city:
