Beach Week Returns to St. Simons

A good one for families and beach lovers.

Correction on Beach Week

I need to correct the information I posted earlier. Beach Week was originally planned for the Coast Guard Station area, but because of ongoing construction there, Georgia DNR had to move the event and change the date.

The correct information is:

Tuesday, June 30, 2026
10:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
Massengale Park, St. Simons Island

I apologize for posting the outdated information. I wanted to correct it quickly so nobody shows up at the wrong place—or a year early! Please share this updated notice with anyone who may be planning to attend.

This free, family-friendly event is a chance to learn more about Georgia’s coast — sea turtles, shorebirds, marine life, beach safety, conservation, and the natural treasures we sometimes walk right past on our way to put a chair in the sand.

It’s also a fine excuse to visit East Beach, one of the prettiest and most historic spots on the island.

Bring the children or grandchildren, ask questions, and learn a little more about the coast we’re blessed to call.
