You may not know that downtown Brunswick has it's very own rum distillery - Richland Rum. If you haven't visited for the rum tasting yet, I highly recommend you add it to the list. My favorite part of the tasting aside from the delicious rum, was learning first-hand how they partner with other breweries and wineries across Georgia to create their signature flavors. I also enjoyed learning about their history and what led them to open the distillery on Newcastle St. in Brunswick. Check it out if you ever get the chance.
Presenting: Richland Old South Georgia Rum - Imperial Brown Ale Cask Exchange.
The nose presents dark chocolate, coffee, to***co, oak, and sweet caramel. A soft, full palate presents ripe plums, figs, raisins, caramelized sugar, surrounded by toasted malt and mellow buttery hops and leads to a deep finish, which brings creamy chocolate, ginger and wood tannins.
