Upstairs Renovation Update 🏚️ Carpet Removal, Paint & Window Screen Repairs in SW Virginia

Upstairs, we are getting rid of some carpet. This is gone, but not all of it is gone. 🏚️🔨

Up here, the carpet goes away, the paint, of course, and we’ve got to fix the screens on the windows and the floor. Yeah, that’s all we’ve got. 🛠️✨

Saving 60-Year-Old Shelves? 🪵 Poor Mountain Renovation Update in SW Virginia

We’ll do this floor. That’s hardwood—a lot of hardwood. 🪵

We’re trying to keep as much of it as we can. 🛠️✨

In here, it was also pink. There was shelving over here. 💗

So I’m going to take some of those shelves because they’re super old. I think they’re original to the house. 🏚️

I’m going to put them in the kitchen and kind of use them as open shelving in there, just because, I mean, they’re 50 or 60 years old. 🔨

It’s in the floor. There was some termite damage, but at least we got rid of all the termites. 🐜🛠️

We still have a list of boards that went to town. 🔨

We’re rearranging cabinets and such, so we can actually use them. These are in pretty good shape. 🧰✨

Restoring the Original Charm 🛠️ New Appliances, Slat Walls & Flooring Update in SW Virginia

New appliances, floor, pseudo stove/table. 🛠️

In here, there was this covering on the wall, but underneath it was the slat, the same as what’s in the kitchen. So we ripped all that off. 🏚️🔨

We’re going to keep the slat, paint it, retrim out the windows, the doors, and such, and bring it back to kind of its original thing. ✨

New light fixture. We’ve seen better days. 💡

We Found a Hidden Bathroom! 🚽 Poor Mountain Renovation Update in SW Virginia

Then, to go over here, we’ll go to the bathroom that wasn’t a bathroom, but that’s got to be a bathroom. 🚽🔨

When I first got this, there were shelves right here, all the way up. The vanity was gone, and there was a board in that corner covering where the toilet was. 🏚️

So I had no idea this was a bathroom when I first opened the door because it was just storage. But when we bought it and everything was moved out, we found a bathroom. So we’re going to turn it back into that. 🛠️✨

We got a new hole for the toilet and moved it away from the wall, so that way, you can actually be comfortable, or as comfortable as you can be. 🚽

There was a stack in the middle here. We moved it back to the corner, so we’d actually get some storage in there. 🧰

And then, being plumbed for the new vanity, you can see that’s where the leak was. So that’s been fixed for the roof. 🏠💧

It’s still a little bit pink, as you can see here, but we have our first solid coat of gray on to kind of tone it down so you can actually see the progress. 🏚️✨

In here, the kitchen is still very yellow, but it’s coming along. 🟡🔨

The water heater was there, but it’s not there anymore because it’s going over here. 🚿🛠️

Poor Mountain Demo Update 🏚️ New Roof, Carpet Removal & Renovation Progress in SW Virginia

Hey guys, Jay with Damon Buys Houses here, and we are at 5184 Poor Mountain Road with a quick update. 🏚️🔨

If you turn right here, you’ll see that we are in demo mode. So, Metro is full and overflowing. 🚧

We have already replaced the roof, so that’s brand new. I think it’s probably a month old at this point. 🏠✨

Here, we ripped down the screen, depending on if I’m replacing it or just leaving it open. I kind of like it open. 👀

As you can see, we’re taking out some carpet. Just a little bit. 🛠️
